IsMobileDevice = false

Sep 25, 2009 at 10:58 PM

I just started developing for mobile devices and downloaded the file mobile.browsers be able to layout better the pages for each device.

I would like to know why is the property IsMobileDevice = false in the case of iphone and Nokia N95 (those are the devices where I noticed this problem so far).

I would also like somebody to explain me better how this file is parsed and how devices are matched.

Have you already found a solution for your problem?
I have it too: IsMobileDevice is always false...

Thanx in advance for your reply!

Hi Activator, I have not found the reason for this problem, I've also asked in forums but nobody seems to know the answer. :(

I just found out I did something very dumb: forgot to add the browsers file to the visual studio project, so it was not used by IIS. As soon as I included it in the solution, my page started recognizing mobile devices! Little chance that this is a solution for you also, but sometimes it's just those little things that you look over?

Good luck!
